Energy optimization and smart control for the Church of Norway in Lillestrøm
Gratech has delivered a comprehensive solution for the Church of Norway in Lillestrøm, focusing on energy efficiency, automation, and improved user-comfort.
Sensor Technology and enviromental monitoring
We have installed sensors to monitor temperature, Co2, and humidity throughout the building. These data provide valuable insights into the indoor climate and are actively used to optimize energy usage.
Intelligent heating control and snow melting
In addition to sensor integration, we have taken over the logic for heating and snow melting control. This ensures energy-efficient operation tailored to real demand and outdoor conditions.
Complete integration of BMS system.
We have integrated our solution with a Building Management System (BMS) that provides users with a complete overview of temperatures, CO₂ levels, and air humidity across different zones.
The BMS makes it easy to monitor and adjust the indoor climate, ensuring optimized comfort and energy efficiency.
Automized pre-heating based on room bookings
A key feature of the solution is the integration between the control system and the building's booking calendar. Based on upcoming bookings, pre-heating is automatically triggered for the relevant zones.
The control system uses machine learning for the compensated outdoor temperature to calculate exatly how far in advance the heating should start.
This ensures that rooms reach the correct temperature when needed, without unnecessary energy consumtion
Power managment and Load balancing
The building’s power usage is continuously monitored, and the system can reduce energy consumption when needed.
If consumption approaches a defined peak threshold, heating and snow melting systems can automatically adjust to prevent unnecessary costs.
This results in significant savings and supports a more sustainable operation.
With this solution, the Church of Norway in Lillestrøm benefits from a modern, energy-efficient building managment system that combines automation, machine learning and intelligent energy control.
